More than 15 years ago now, my mom picked up a fellow sailor at the Columbia Yacht Club in Chicago. His name is Harold, and they’ve been tacking together ever since.
Harold’s a beer guy, so he’s a proud supporter of this site, and the craft beer scene in general. We’re both aficionados of Raging Bitch, so when he saw a great case sale at Wegman’s featuring that great IPA and its ilk, he put together a mixed case for me as an early birthday present. Thanks, H! Here they are, in all their glory…
The benchmark Two-Hearted Ale plus the Founder’s All Day IPA, a session at 4.7% abv, light and mildly bitter
The original Fat Tire plus the Belgian White version, and the Abbey Dubbel rich with coffee & cream & maple syrup
Strangeways’ Uberlin Berliner Weisse lemony sour wheat, plus Legend’s American Brown Ale with molasses, and Devil’s Backbone’s Eight Point IPA with fresh mown hay on the nose
The three include the famous Raging Bitch, the Tropical Bitch, and the Numero Uno
Hints of mango to go in my classic, well-loved Fat Tire pint glass
Hibiscus forward IPA from Troegs at 6.2% abv with zest on the palate
