While I’ll admit my focus turned far more often to wine, I still managed to pack in some great beers on my last trip to Northern California. Between a family wedding at the Campovida winery, and drives out to the stunning Sonoma Coast, we saw a lot of the reasons why the region north of San Francisco draws close to the top of my list for Favorite Places.

Along the way, we tasted great craft beers at a local brewpub in Lakeport, plus found the forever-loved Pliny the Elder still on tap at The Girl and The Fig in Sonoma. And we topped it off with a couple of solid Mexican beers to accompany the piles of great tacos we consumed in honor of our favorite food-truck munch.
