Actually, the title of the story is purposefully misleading: I did not drink any beer at King Bao on East Colonial in Orlando last week–mostly because they don’t serve any alcohol. That should in no way stop you from enjoying the pillowy folded pancakes of joy the next time you’re in the neighborhood. Try any of the specials, and some short rib for good measure.

The beer in question refers to my stop to visit Nora’s Sugar Shack, just a few blocks north on Virginia Avenue. Nora and her pack have become great pals, and I wouldn’t miss a trip to share a glass of vinho on the deck–and a swing through her craft beer room to pick up a 6-pack of Florida brews to take back home.

Ducky the dog felt under the weather, so our pup walk was short, and we focused on catching up rather than painting the town red–since we both had larger agenda items on the menu that week in Orlando. We realized that I had known Stoli the pup for nearly 9 years…and though she got tagged by a car a little while back, she’s carrying on, just like we all are. Here’s to good friends and good dogs.
